Character Profile; Ottone

Ottone is a past lover of Poppea. At the beginning of the play he arrives at Poppea's house to find her with Nero and is saddened by Poppea's unfaithfulness. He seems very desperate for Poppea's Love, during the Dvd of the performance at Glyndebourne Opera House it even appeared as if he was trying to force himself on her at one point. However, when he is ordered to murder Poppea he does attempt to, and even had planned to murder her himself before that. He dresses in Druscilla's clothing during his attempt on Poppea's life, which means she gets the blame. Instead of letting Druscilla take the blame, he admits his guilt which i think shows he is a bit more of a moral character than some of the others in the play.
